Zac Posen RTW Fall 2016

Zac Posen's collection was more of a statement than a publicity.In a society,where "diversity" is a reigning problem,this collection was true to the cause-all the testament to the model lineup which was comprised almost entirely of gorgeous models of color like Aya Jones, Aamito Lagum, Cindy Bruna, Riley Montana and Grace Bol.

     The inspiration was Princess Elizabeth of Toro, an Ugandan lawyer who became the first east African woman to be admitted into the English bar.She was also a successful model ,covered American Vogue in 1968 and was briefly the foreign minister of Uganda in the 1970s. Notwithstanding her color-be it black or white,she was an accomplished and beautiful woman(beauty and brains!).

  In his show notes, Posen noted her "kind nature, stunning appearance and exceptional intellect."

Tommy Hilfiger RTW Fall 2016

Tommy Hilfiger's theme this time was -nautical.Though the designs were everything but experimental ,they were sparkly and cute,with a tiara to top the outfit off.

Set up like a giant, early 20th-century passenger liner under a starry night sky with VIPs seated on the poop deck, the show was a Tommy Hilfiger theme park. Last week he disclosed his plan to get aboard the consumer-facing format for spring 2017, but hasn’t he already? The clothes ranked as third mate, behind photo ops and production razzle-dazzle.
The cutesy takes on admiral jackets, stripes, sailor pants and tops and Thirties-era printed silk dresses with Peter Pan and sailor collars were executed with a high level of polish — they looked expensive, and will not sell for cheap — yet the impression was too kitsch to navigate beyond the runway. Amusing though it was, the ride on the T.H. left some searching for their sea legs.(Courtesy:WWD.com)
