How To Wear Denim Culottes,According To Vogue

The trickiest trend of Spring-Culottes-is going to be the subject of the discussion today. We,humble folks are too scared to try most of the seasonal trends because of our mere mortal ,er..humanly shaped figures.Fashion trends look hot or nice on the runway but in order to transition them into our daily life,we need sartorial confidence.

Vogue says,
When we say culotte, you are probably thinking of something dowdy and mumsy and lower-abdominal exaggerating, something that will make you look stout and strange and in too-short pants. Forget all that. The new culotte—as seen on the runways at Gucci,ValentinoNo. 21, Derek Lam and MM6—is ankle-grazing, it is voluminous, it is actually really, really easy to pull off. It’s a simple update on a classic trouser, so take your cues from bastions of good ol’ American style like Lauren Bacall or Katharine Hepburn and, as Vogue.com Market Editor Kelly Connor notes, “Always keep your proportions in mind; the pant has to hit above the ankle.” Our second move, in running to win over your closet, would be to emphasize that a good shoe is required to keep this kicky look grounded. (An excuse to show off your new shoes? As if we need say more.)

Needless to say, yes, while I am partial to my skinnies and also admit my fear of embracing any new trends,I will try on the mighty culottes for a laugh,if that's what it entails......

News Today!!

Two Words:Joan Didion. To those, who doesn't gather the significance in these two words -
Joan Didion is an American author best known for her novels and her literary journalism. Her novels and essays explore the disintegration of American morals and cultural chaos, where the overriding theme is individual and social fragmentation.
This esteemed writer was starring in Céline’s latest ad campaign. Here's what NYT says :

When Vogue, a former employer of the esteemed writer Joan Didion, announced on Tuesday that she was starring in Céline’s latest ad campaign, with a photograph featuring her in black shirt, oversize gold pendant and dark sunglasses, the fashion Internet quivered in a way it hasn’t at least since Kim Kardashian stripped nude for Paper magazine two months ago.
Was Ms. Didion aware of the sensation she caused?
“I don’t have any clue,” said the 80-year-old author of well-thumbed classics such as “The White Album,” “Slouching Towards Bethlehem” and “The Year of Magical Thinking,” reached by telephone on Wednesday at her Upper East Side residence (where the photo, by Juergen Teller, was taken). “I have no idea.”
Whose idea was this?
“They got in touch with me,” Ms. Didion said, as crisp as one of Phoebe Philo’s cotton tunics.

She said that she has never been to a Céline show, whose front row recently featured Ms. Kardashian’s husband, Kanye West, but that, “I would love to.”
Prodded, she added that she is a fan of the brand, which has a store on Madison Avenue near her apartment, and that “I am fortunate enough to own a few” of their things, though she declined to specify which.
Fire up the Bombardier, Monsieur Arnault!
Ms. Didion also reminded this reporter that this is not the first time she has acted as a model. Besides the famous cover image of her peering out of her Corvette for her memoir “Where I Was From" — to which Céline paid apparent homage with earlier shots of their usual model, Daria Werbowy — she appeared in a 1991 ad for the Gap.

New Trends #2: Suede

Let us talk about Fabrics - Suede v. Denim. The year 2014 saw a remarkable trend based on denim. Is 2015 the year of Suede ?

Balmain has an excellent suede bag and knee-high boots.Of course,I being a average wage income girl will not in the near future afford it. Well,Surprise people! You can find even items made in suede in High-street shops.
Here's what VogueUsa thinks:"This season, next season, the foreseeable future—it’s all about buttery, supple, and oh-so-soft suede, with its alluring impracticality (avoid drizzle at all costs!) and undeniable sensual appeal. It’s how fashion is getting its groove back, just in time to fall in step with the utterly, well, groovy seventies vibe felt on spring’s runways. From Derek Lam and Jason Wu to Michael Kors, Altuzarra, Gucci, Chloé, and Loewe, this season was nothing short of a suede parade. The fabric is seasonless, light enough to wear as a fringed topper à la Saint Laurent when it’s balmy out, but warm enough to accent your woolens in the winter months. If leather is a tough-chick warning signal, suede is its utterly inviting, eminently touchable sister. Nothing feels quite so right, right now. "
It does have a very country vibe to it and a refreshing change instead of denim.
Here's a snap of J-law (Jennifer Lawrence) sporting a suede and fringe bag.Although the fashion staple has lots of trends mixed in one:suede, fringed, moss green(which may as well be the new black of 2015)
So,Thoughts ? Will be waiting .

P.S. : More on trends,keep on watching-reading.Au revoir!
