NYFW : Altuzarra

A look from Altuzarra's fall 2015 collection. Photo: Imaxtree

It took a year for Christopher Kane to release his first handbag line after Kering took a majority stake in his company, and Joseph Altuzarra — who sold a minority stake in his eponymous label to the luxury conglomerate in September 2013 — appears to be on a similar schedule, revealing his first bag collection, dubbed "Notch," at his fall 2015 collection showing on Saturday evening.
The bags, in black, orange and brown leather, as well as navy and burgundy crocodile, came in two styles: a large hobo with a short handle, suitable for carrying a stack of papers and perhaps even a Macbook Air, and a smaller, saddle-shaped shoulder bag, which brought to mind Chloe's popular "Marcie" bag. Both styles were decorated with tassels, braided straps and gold hardware and, on two occasions, studs. Altuzarra seems to have a knack for handbags (as he does for shoes), and I have a feeling his will perform much better at retail than Kane's plainer leather bags with the safety belt clasps.
Attractive though the bags were, the ready-to-wear was still the star of Altuzarra's show. Dandies and Truman Capote's swans — two groups with a mutual love of dressing up — were the starting points for the collection, which opened with a daring pair of golden fox fur collars affixed to a boxy white jacket and brown houndstooth coat, respectively. Altuzarra continued to play up his signature slit skirts, but many of the skirts were, refreshingly, longer, flaring mid-calf over tall studded boots in black or burgundy leather. They were paired with another Altuzarra favorite, shirting, which borrowed from the dandies' selection of tall ruffled collars.
Showgoers seemed particularly taken with the furs, namely the '80s-inspired fox coats in pale pink and blue, but it was the evening dresses — in navy, pale blue and burgundy chiffon with gold sequin embroidery — that were really exceptional, with deep-V necks made modest with white lace shirtfronts and high ruffled necks that matched the shirting. It's been a long time since we've seen such an original idea for an evening dress.(Source:Fashionista)

This is probably the favourite look ,according to me because it projects princess-like sophistication and sultry ness.Dakota looks mysterious in a midnight blue Jason Wu dress and adds a touch of temptation with long Carolina Amato gloves at the Costume Institute Gala.

At the Met Gala after-party, she opts for an equally sultry slip dress.
Okay, she looks awkward, can't blame her but her slip dress looks equally sultry,at the Met Gala after-party.

Cate Blanchett was spotted wearing an amazing Givenchy gown to the red carpet of the "Cinderella" adaptation , part of the Berlin Film Festival this week.

The stunning actress, who never disappoints on the fashion front, showed up to the film's premiere Friday in a custom Givenchy gown with a shimmery version of the geometric, pixel-like print Riccardo Tisci did for pre-fall 2015. It's at once strange, stunning, and statement-making. I can't really see another non-model pulling this off and I think it's one of Blanchett's best looks in a while, which is saying something. Also perfect: the stacks of rings, the tousled hair, the low key makeup and that effortlessly thrown on black jacket.(source:Fashionista)

Cover Story

Bffs Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss cover Vogue's March'15 issue.
They are described as "UNSTOPPABLE, INSEPARABLE, ADORABLE."

Photo: Mikael Jansson/Vogue

Photographed by Mikael Jansson, the cover shoot features Kloss and Swift reenacting that FOMO-inducing road trip they took in Northern California almost a year ago. There's some hair-blowing-in-the-wind convertible action, at least one meta selfie pic, a whole lotta hugging, and one of those shiny, retro Airstream campers, presumably to be used for some cozy PCH sleepovers and guitar strumming. The featured fashion is ranges from red carpet (on dirt roads) to boho.

According to Swift, the model and pop star were destined to be gal-pals. “People had been telling us for years that we needed to meet,” she tells the glossy. “I remember makeup artists and hair people going, ‘God, she and Karlie would be best friends.’” In the end, though, it was Victoria's Secret Angel Lily Aldridge who actually did the 'match-making.' Recalls Swift, “We were just like, ‘You. My friend. Now.’”
The release of the issue comes on the same day as the video for Swift's new single, "Style." Quite fitting in terms of cross-promotion, wouldn't you say?
