DOLCE AND GABANNA READY-TO-WEAR FALL 2016

Review : Dolce & Gabbana's fall Ready-to-wear collection was pretty magical and dreamy - these words brings back childhood memories of watching those Disney movies ,those famous fairy tales where Cinderella wears that lovely dreamy gown and the tale of the glass slippers are what our fashion fairy tales consist of ,even as adults.

The runway was set akin to a veritable wonderland , complete with carriages, chandeliers, and clocks ready to strike midnight. The clothes took on some of that enchanted spirit, too, from the tinsel-like dresses to the sweeping floral coats.

Harleth Kuusik opened as Prince Charming and Willow Hand followed in a powder blue dress, complete with a bejeweled bow choker and glass slippers. Next came a shift embroidered with Cinderella's sidekick mice and their spools of thread. This pattern repeated with much of the Disney catalogue, including a series of "Snow White" dresses — one embroidered with the evil queen, another printed with poison apples, and a red frock with dwarf appliqués near the finale — and nods to "Alice in Wonderland" with candelabras, tea sets and pocket watches.
But ...not every look was inspired from the "fairy-tale princess" look ,they were playful .There were also a trend ,which is very popular ,both on the runway and street style - dramatic sleeves,which we can refer to as " princess sleeve" for this show ; they were proper poufs that came on semi-sheer and metallic dresses . There were velvet dresses as well,which featured fairy-tale scene embellishments and stately jackets (for Prince Charming) with gold rope trim . 

          For those averse to the fairy-tale theme,there were a number of midi dresses with long sleeves . Now, What about those glass slippers ? The shoes came with pompoms, studs, and rhinestone trim, but the pair that will have everyone talking are the combat-meets–Chelsea boot hybrids.
